Biography
David J. Howell is a Criminal Defense Attorney who practices law in Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Los Angeles counties. He attended the University of California, Irvine where he studied Film and Political Science. His undergraduate thesis in Political Science positioned him to graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science with Honors in 2008.
David J. Howell’s academic performance earned him the Dean’s Scholarship to attend Trinity Law School in Santa Ana, CA. In addition to working full time and attending night classes, David J. Howell studied abroad at the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.
While attending Trinity Law School, David J. Howell, along with Dustin M. Shamburg, was one of the first students to enroll in the newly formed Mobile Legal Clinic. Having previously attended the Legal Clinic and having a knack for all things IT, David J. Howell was a shoe-in to assist in resolving the logistical issues of transforming a school bus into a functioning mobile legal office. The Mobile Legal Clinic was an offshoot of Trinity Law School’s pro bono Legal Clinic which was born of a partnership established by Bryan R. Kazarian between Trinity Law School and the Orange County Rescue Mission. While the Legal Clinic was based on the grounds of the Rescue Mission, the work of the Mobile Legal Clinic was on the road.
Under the guidance and mentorship of Bryan R. Kazarian, the Professor of the Mobile Legal Clinic, David J. Howell and his classmates would travel to the areas of Santa Ana with the greatest indigent population to find those who were in the most need of assistance. Sometimes those they encountered needed legal assistance and other times they just needed someone to listen. It was here that David J. Howell’s passion to help others truly began and the seed to becoming a Criminal Defense Attorney was planted.
After graduating from Trinity Law School with a Juris Doctorate Degree in 2012 and passing the California State Bar in 2013, Bryan R. Kazarian hand-selected his prior student as a Junior Associate at The Law Offices of Bryan R. Kazarian. Since that time, David J. Howell’s passion, experience, and expertise in Criminal Law have grown exponentially as he has zealously protected the rights of hundreds of clients in the Southern California area for a variety of criminal offenses.
David J. Howell is a member of the California Bar Association (#295678) and licensed to practice in all California State Courts.
